Heal the World

Cannot pass this one !

On a vacation on my favourite city last month, was visiting a lovely family as I always do. I get free food, accommodation and play time with two of the most lovely little ones I have ever known which obviously makes the city so close to the heart. So with the weekend passing on eat, play and be merry ideology it was no wonder the time to bid adieu came so soon. As I always do and love to do, I offered to drop the youngest one in his school that morning as tradition.

Setting off in the direction of the school(with two children in tow) we cut through a small clearing calling out to birds around, a Tarzan's act of sorts. We raced each other, jumped over dead branches and danced all the way...!

I stopped bringing the rest to an abrupt jolt. 'Dandelions..' I cried and we ran into the green to pick two(which I concede were all that was!)
"Save the rainforests, save the Earth, save us all... " muttered the first one with an unquestionably sincere tone. Would love to see if the G20 are half as genuine as this seven year old in their concerns for a greener planet and if we can talk less and do more about recycling..
"I wish aunty stays here forever.." - the four year old, with eyes tight shut and clutching the fragile flower as hard as he could. Not hard to imagine I stopped in my tracks(again..). As the children opened their eyes and blew their respective flowers, I dropped on my knees with very moist eyes and hugged them both hard for reviving my trust in this world.

The few unadulterated emotions that are still around in this world are from the young and innocent I s'pose ! Of course, it's also not difficult to see why parenthood is a huge responsibility which should be taken up by only those who can live up to it, like me friends just proved they had !!

Every dog.... it's day !

Ah, since my Firday posts are meted out with evasive comments, I have changed gears to shift focus onto this weekend as an exception.

Dinner in an Indian restaurant on a weekend in Central London.
Posh.
Dinner in a six time Michelin Star Indian restaurant on a weekend in Central London.
Very posh.
To personally know the sous-chef of the restaurant ??
A distinct advantage over the ordinary and the influential both alike.
To try all the dishes and not having to end up paying cash/Mastercard ??
PRICELESS ;) :p !!

Some snaps graciously produced below to act a Catalyst to the already green shade somebodies reading this post might have now turned..

Ta-ta !

See an end ??

Roommates are no new concept ! In fact everyone of us at some point in time, eight on a scale of one to ten, have had to share our space ~ some inters tingly some not so interestingly. Intriguing talks, late night movies and crisps, reassuring hankies, few of the agree to disagree incidents and more is ideally the package after the initial rapport clicks. When a close kin was taken aboard it was 'reassuring good times' as certain comfort level is bound to exist. Little did realization set in ~ assumptions are precisely that !
A typical evening sees this roomie approaching and enquiring cautiously if the prepaid card used for travel can be borrowed for a lil while ~ yes, it's simply human to forget topping up one's own card ! Being the epitome of goodness that this blogger happens to be, not knowing to say NO(yes, never got around to finishing Herbert Fensterheim) watched helplessly as the card is drawn out from the blazer pocket where it safely resides. A faint note of thanks is imagined to be heard at this point.
On an other note, it needs to be mentioned "Oh dear, Monday !" syndrome affects majority of those who wake up following Sunday nights.. a deja vu of Friday the 13th of sorts ! Scrambling out of bed and cursing my geography teacher for logically proving to me Monday follows Sunday(read ROTATION), a clockwork routine follows where every check of time reveals accumulating overdue minutes. Grabbing the shoulder bag, running down the hallway with a practiced to perfection act of wearing shoes on the go, dashing across the road and onto the sidewalk quickening pace every second finally sees' me reaching the bus stop.
'Yippeee...a lucky Monday after all' thought strikes as a bright red bus comes to a screeching halt, opening it's doors welcoming one and all. Queuing up to board, casually reaching into the pocket for that magical pass which takes me places(quite literally), I freeze as the inward eye replays a scene from previous evening, 'Can I borrow your pre-pay card please ??'. Ahhh, of course. Coming back to senses, ignoring the bus fast turning a small smaller red dot in the distance, a frantic call is made. No answer. More frantic a call. Still no answer. Very frantic call. Sleepy answer. A seemingly eternal 15 minutes wait sees roomie approaching with a pleasant smile, 'Ah, you forgot the card, dint ya ! No worries, see its so handy to have someone helpful around like me !". No reaction. An innocent request question now follows, 'Hmmm, am planning to jog today.. was wondering if can borrow your iPod to give me company while running.." Is this what English from Oxford claims to fit the description of a continuum !!
